Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

When accessing the computer network that is wireless is commonly known as a wireless network. These networks, which are often associated with a telecommunications network, use a form of remote information transmission such as by radio waves.

Amongst the smallest of wireless networks is a Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN). This network is usually just in a small area within a single person’s reach.

The next level of wireless network is the more common Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) which are mostly used to connect computers within a home, school or office. In order for these networks to be used only by those entitled to it, the network must be encrypted. Wi-Fi is a wireless network that allows for connection to the Internet and other devices with Wi-Fi abilities. Fixed Wireless Data links computers or networks at two different locations, such as in two or more buildings in the city.
