Filed under: Beauty, Health, News and Events, Skin Care, Wellness — amenbiz @ 11:54 am

During the wet seasons, it is not convenient to enjoy a tan at the beach or at the park, one place to consider is a tanning bed gallery, which is also known as a tanning salon. It is a facility that offers tanning services to the public for a fee. This type of salon may offer tanning beds, booths and even spray tans. If you love the healthy, glowing look of a tan but don’t want to subject your skin to UV rays then you will love the spray tan option available at most salons these days. Eczema treatment

Filed under: Beauty, Children, Health, Medical, Skin Care — chrisy369 @ 6:18 pm

Eczema is characterized by the appearance of inflamed, itchy skin in eczema sensitive areas such as face, chest and other skin crease areas. There are a number of ways to treat eczema but the use of eczema creams, lotions and emollients are the most common.

Eczema can be broadly classified into mild, severe, and extremely severe types.  Learn about the causes of eczema and effective and natural treatments and cures for eczema.Eczema usually refers to a range of persistent or recurring skin rashes, itching and dryness. Although Eczema will affect all people of all ages, it usually first becomes apparent in infants and small children.

The aim is to keep the skins moisture levels constant as it is when moisture from the skin is lost that Eczema will cause the most distress. This is the most important self-care treatment that one can use in atopic eczema. The removal of natural body oils will exacerbate the Eczema condition so anything that does this should be stopped straight away. Skin moistening agents are called emollients and the rule of thumb for there use is to match the thicker ointments to the driest and flakiest skin. Light emollients like aqueous cream may dry the skin if it is very flaky, so heavier ointment should be used.

Eczema symptoms may come and go. Don’t wait until they turn into a flare-up or an outbreak.

Filed under: Health, News and Events, Skin Care — rayspotts @ 3:07 pm

Eczema and psoriasis are two dreaded skin diseases. Although psoriasis develops more scaly skin compared to eczema, neither of the two are desirable. The root of these diseases is still unknown for today. What made known are characteristics usually shared by individuals suffering from these skin disorders. One of the angles being looked into is the hereditary aspect of psoriasis and eczema. Experts believe these could have run in the bloodline. The chance of having psoriasis and eczema is more likely when there has been history in the family to have acquired these skin diseases. Psoriasis and eczema are common among Caucasian people, while less among dark people and those living in the tropical region. These provide reasonable ground that climate and natural surrounding have a significant impact in having these diseases. When it comes to both sexes, male and female, psoriasis and eczema have a natural inclination toward women. This fact suggests the idea of hormonal differences of the two. Psoriasis and eczema also strikes on the onset of adolescence.

Bits and Pieces about Plaque Psoriasis

Filed under: Health, News and Events, Skin Care — rayspotts @ 6:14 pm

Psoriasis has several kinds, the most common of which is plaque psoriasis. It can be seen on knees, elbows, and body torso. In some cases, it can be present on scalp. As distinguished from dandruff, however, plaque psoriasis produce red spots that can be visible though the hair. Plaque psoriasis appearance is generally characterized by a series of red spots. Initially, small red spots appear on affected areas. These red spots increase and expand through time. It will then be accompanied with itching and painful heaved skin, which appears to be scaly. These scales are actually dead skin films that do not detach by natural means. Treating plaque psoriasis generally involves topical creams and steroids. In some degree, light application like UVB and lasers may become necessary. Consistent treatment approach is so vital to completely erase plaque psoriasis in affected areas. Neither the cause of plaque psoriasis nor susceptible individuals of this disease has been recorded. It is less observed in people living in tropical regions and having darker complexion. It greatly affects men than to women. It is also suspected to have a hereditary cause.

Natural Alternatives for Chemically Hazardous Skin Disease Treatments

Filed under: Health, News and Events, Skin Care — rayspotts @ 5:46 pm

Common ingredients among seborrhea or cradle crap shampoos and treatment products are salicylic acid, coal tar, and topical steroids. We know that these chemicals are harmful up a certain extent, so safer alternatives would be necessary. Salicylic acid proved to be effective among persons dealing with psoriasis and seborrhea. In some cases, however, it can also produce allergic reactions and skin burns. A natural counterpart, lemon oil, can replace salicylic acid for the same job of scraping dead cells. Coal tar is popular among dandruff shampoos to wash away flakes and scales in affected areas. Due to further irritations and undesirable side effects, orange oil can be used for same purpose. Steroids are common among topical agents for psoriasis and a lot of skin problems. However, it can be potentially harmful to the skin for prolonged use. In-depth moisturizing agents, like bee’s wax and lavender oil, can infiltrate through different skin layers just as steroids do.
